POLOKWANE – Residents in the city are reminded to prepare for planned water supply shutdowns by Lepelle Northern Water (LNW), which will take place over several days in the next few weeks and early December.
According to the Polokwane Municipality, the shutdowns form part of Phase 3 connection and commissioning works at the Ebenezer and Olifantspoort water schemes.
The work aims to install high-efficiency pumps and improve the city’s long-term water supply reliability.

LNW has confirmed that water supply interruptions will occur as follows:
-
Olifantspoort Scheme:
-
November 12–13, 2025 (48 hours)

-
The Olifantspoort shutdown will impact supply from Polokwane, Ga-Chuene and Seshego.
Residents urged to store water in advance
Residents are encouraged to store sufficient water in advance for household use during the planned shutdowns.
“Mitigation plans are in place, and we thank residents for their patience and cooperation,” the municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said.
He added that its water teams will monitor the process closely to minimise disruptions and ensure that supply is restored as soon as the scheduled maintenance is completed.
