Seshego police launch manhunt after discovery of woman’s body

A 20-year-old woman was found murdered in Moletji Matekereng, prompting Seshego police to open a case and launch a manhunt.

POLOKWANE – Seshego police have launched a murder investigation after the body of a 20-year-old woman was found in Moletji Matekereng on Monday, 24 November 2025.

Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, says officers were called to the scene and discovered the woman lying on her back. She was half-naked, dressed in a white skirt and pink jersey, and had sustained severe injuries to her upper body.

“Police have confirmed that the victim has been identified, but her name is being withheld while investigations continue. The person responsible for the killing has not yet been identified, and a manhunt is underway,” says Ledwaba.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Tip-offs can be reported to the investigating officer, Sergeant Thabo Mabotja, on 061 454 0912, the Crime Stop line on 08600 10111, any police station, or through the MySAPS app.

The investigation is ongoing.
