POLOKWANE – Laerskool Ivypark hosted its annual two-day inter-house athletics on Thursday and Friday, where boys and girls competed in various track and field events across different age groups.
The competitive yet fun event included high jump, long jump, shot put, hurdles and sprints over various distances. Learners were ranked not only on their performances but also on their potential to represent the school in the coming year.
Bankuna Mohlava is first followed by Mpho Tsivhase second and Lwandile Zondi in third place.
Omuhle Mlangeni takes the win in the 150m for girls with Rorisang Rammala short on her heels.
Mabore Mathekga finishes first, followed by Shazia Mia in the 150m girls race.
Fellow learners cheered from the pavilion, encouraging the athletes braving the heat on the track and field.
The energy and determination of the competitors made the event a highlight of the school calendar, with some learners setting records.
