Three suspects have been arrested in the Sekhukhune District, in connection with a recent house robbery and kidnapping case.

LIMPOPO – Police in Sekhukhune District have arrested three suspects in connection with a house robbery and kidnapping incident that occurred in December 2025.

The arrests were made on Wednesday (December 31), in Motetema following an intelligence-led operation carried out by the Sekhukhune Investigation and Tracking Team, assisted by Groblersdal and Motetema police.

Victim held for three days

Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, says a man was kidnapped from his home in Tafelkop, where he was also robbed of an undisclosed amount of money and several clothing items.

He was reportedly held captive for three days.

“During the incident, multiple ATM withdrawals were made in Motetema, Groblersdal and Marble Hall. The suspects are also believed to have bought fuel at various filling stations within the Motetema policing area,” says Ledwaba.

The victim was subsequently found unharmed in the Monsterloos Section under the Hlogotlou policing area.

Suspect caught with cash, phones, and victim’s belongings

Police identified a 44-year-old female foreign national as one of the suspects.

Following further investigations, she was traced and arrested in Tafelkop, and was found in possession of cash and six cellphones.

Investigators later identified her accomplices, two male suspects aged between 34 and 57. They were arrested in the same area, where some of the victim’s belongings were recovered.

A vehicle believed to have been used during the commission of the crime was also seized.

Court appearance set

The suspects are expected to appear before the Motetema Magistrate’s Court today (January 2), facing charges of house robbery and kidnapping.

Police investigations are continuing.
