Meet the designer behind Juniorramz, Shaun Molepo
Designer Shaun Molepo shares his journey building Juniorramz and how fashion shows helped boost his brand and career in Polokwane.
POLOKWANE – Polokwane fashion designer Shaun Molepo (24) is steadily becoming one of Limpopo’s most recognisable young creatives.
As the owner of Juniorramz Fashion Design Company, he specialises in bespoke attire for matric dances, weddings, graduations and exclusive events and says fashion has become both his passion and purpose.
Molepo’s journey began in high school, where he printed and sold shirts to classmates.
In 2021, he pursued formal training through a 12-month course at AC Fashion School in Polokwane, mastering the technical skills he needed to launch a professional brand.
His latest collection, Corde, blends sharp tailoring with bold styling, reflecting his evolving signature aesthetic.
“The name ‘Juniorramz’ is a tribute to my father,” he says.
“It comes from my nickname, Remz, combined with Junior. My biggest inspiration comes from seeing people feel confident in my creations. Fashion is about making a statement and being unforgettable.”
Mixing craft, confidence and identity
Molepo has designed outfits for radio and TV personalities and continues to build a reputation for clean, handcrafted and striking looks.
He enjoys travelling, engaging with people and drawing inspiration from different lifestyles, all of which influence his designs.
Focused on building an independent label, he isn’t rushing into collaborations and prefers growing steadily, intentionally and sustainably.
His achievements include winning three categories in the Polokwane Municipality’s Global Entrepreneurship Week competition and showcasing at the Polokwane Mercedes-Benz Fashion Show, a platform created to highlight emerging designers.
How fashion shows strengthened his brand
Although his journey began long before he stepped onto a runway, Molepo says fashion shows played a significant role in accelerating his growth.
He showcased some of his early pieces at a local fashion show at Library Gardens which he says was a turning point in his career.
“Fashion shows are powerful,” he says.
“They increase brand visibility, attract attention and create opportunities for designers to communicate their brand identity. After my first show, clients started calling, booking fittings and placing orders. The demand grew even more after I participated in more shows around the province.”
He believes runway exposure allows designers not only to present wearable pieces but also to express creativity, experiment and show the personality behind the brand.
“Fashion shows generate media and influencer coverage. They put your name in conversations that matter. For me, they helped Juniorramz grow faster than I expected.”
His message to aspiring designers is clear:
“Follow your dreams and never let anyone tell you otherwise.”
