Limpopo robbery suspect arrested in Gauteng pursuit
A multi-province police operation captures a 35-year-old Limpopo man wanted for business robberies in Sekhukhune.

LIMPOPO – A coordinated police operation spanning two provinces has led to the arrest of a 35-year-old man wanted in connection with a series of business robberies in the Sekhukhune District last year.
Acting provincial police commissioner, Major General Jan Scheepers, commended the Sekhukhune Tracking Team for their role in the suspect’s apprehension, which occurred in Gauteng on Friday (January 2).
Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the suspect had been evading authorities since committing the robberies in the Moletlane and Lebowakgomo policing areas between June and July 2025.
The breakthrough came on the afternoon of January 2, when intelligence led officers to a tavern in Makhutšo village under the Nebo policing area.
The suspect, however, fled the scene upon the arrival of police. He was later sighted in a vehicle with Gauteng registration plates, heading toward the Mable Hall area.
The pursuit shifted to Gauteng after the same vehicle was spotted in Mamelodi later that evening.
A joint team, including members of the Sekhukhune Tracking Team and Lebowakgomo Detectives, arrived in the province around 10:00PM.
The suspect was arrested on the spot without further incident.
The man is scheduled to appear before the Thabamoopo Magistrate’s Court today (January 5), to face two counts of business robbery.
Police have confirmed that their investigations are ongoing.
