Bela-Bela police recover stolen property during arrest

A 21-year-old man was arrested after an intelligence-led operation recovered a laptop and other stolen items worth R6 500 in Bela-Bela.

LIMPOPO – A 21-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday (January 7) after a targeted police operation led to the recovery of suspected stolen property valued at R6,500.

According to police, Bela-Bela detectives conducted an intelligence-driven operation aimed at suspects linked to a burglary at a residential premises reported earlier this month. The operation is part of ongoing Festive Season initiatives.

During the operation, the suspect was found in possession of a laptop, an inverter and a wristwatch, believed to have been taken during the burglary.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba confirmed the arrest. The suspect is expected to appear before the Bela-Bela Magistrate’s Court on Friday (January 9) to face charges of burglary and possession of suspected stolen property.

Investigations are continuing.
