Mokopane instructor on Pilates and fitness

Nastachia le Roux, founder of Fierce Form Movement Lab, explains how Pilates improves core strength, posture, and long-term wellbeing.

MOKOPANE – As the new year begins, many people are revisiting their fitness resolutions with renewed focus.

One local wellness professional passionate about health, movement and balance is Nastachia le Roux, the founder of Fierce Form Movement Lab. Bosveld caught up with her to learn more about Pilates and her newly opened studio.

“Pilates is a scientifically grounded movement method that focuses on core strength, spinal stability, alignment, controlled breathing and mindful movement,” she explained. “By strengthening the deep stabilising muscles that support the spine and joints, Pilates improves posture, flexibility, mobility, balance and overall functional strength. It also supports injury prevention, rehabilitation and long-term physical and mental well-being.”

Le Roux’s approach to movement is shaped by both education and experience. She studied human movement sciences at the University of Pretoria, where her interest in Pilates was sparked during a mat-based workshop focused on rehabilitation and intelligent movement.

After graduating, she furthered her studies through the internationally recognised Basi Pilates Global Academy.

With more than a decade of experience in human movement and physical conditioning, Le Roux officially opened Fierce Form Movement Lab in September 2025. She also holds an honours degree in educational psychology, enabling her to tailor sessions to different learning styles, physical abilities and individual goals.

Fierce Form originally started as an athleisure brand offering functional, breathable gym wear. As the brand evolved, so did the vision to create a professional movement space, leading to the establishment of the studio.

The boutique studio offers equipment-based Pilates with a strong emphasis on personalised care. Services include one-on-one and duo sessions, rehabilitation Pilates, mommy-and-me classes and more. The studio is fully equipped with specialised apparatus such as the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, spinal correctors and mats.

Le Roux stressed that Pilates is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, provided it is taught by a properly qualified instructor. “Education, experience and professional standards matter,” she said, adding that she remains committed to offering safe, effective and professional Pilates education to the community.
