Two arrested in 2025 Limpopo murder case

Two suspects will appear in court for a 2025 murder in Mohodi after being arrested in a multi-unit police operation over the weekend.

POLOKWANE – Two suspects, aged 24 and 29, are scheduled to appear in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on Monday (January 19) for their role in a murder under the Mogwadi policing area.

The case

The case relates to an incident in September 2025.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba says officers responded to a tip-off about a homicide at a residence in Mohodi village. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim lying in a pool of blood from an apparent gunshot wound.

Preliminary reports suggest the suspects had called the victim, ordering him to come outside. When he did not respond, they kicked his doors open, assaulted him and his brother, and shot the victim before fleeing the scene in a bakkie.

Emergency services pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The arrests

Following the registration of a murder case, which was transferred to the Provincial Murder and Robbery Investigation Unit, a multi-unit operation was conducted on Saturday (January 17).

Acting on intelligence, members from the Provincial Murder and Robbery Investigation Unit, the Provincial Tracking Team, and the Provincial Flying Squad located and arrested the two suspects at separate hideouts in Moletjie, at Ga-Mabokele and Ga-Hlahla.

The investigation remains ongoing.
