Manhunt launched after woman found dead in Maake

A manhunt is underway after a 28-year-old woman was found with a rope tied around her neck in her Maake home on Saturday night.

LIMPOPO – Police in Maake have launched a manhunt after a woman was found deceased at her home in Metz Village on Saturday night (January 17).

A grim discovery

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says officers responded to a call and found a man at the scene who pointed them to the victim inside the house.

Police discovered the body of a 28-year-old woman lying on the floor with a rope tied around her neck and attached to the roof.

Emergency Medical Services personnel were summoned and certified the victim dead.

Case reclassified following autopsy

An initial inquest docket was opened for investigation. Following a post-mortem examination, the case was reclassified as murder.

No suspects have been identified yet, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
