Redimed 24 team boosts SANBS reserves in Polokwane

Redimed 24 staff and visitors in Polokwane donated blood at the SANBS drive, helping boost reserves ahead of the Easter holidays.

POLOKWANE – Staff members and visitors of Redimed 24 in the city took some stress off their feet to make a difference in somebody’s life, when they donated blood at the SANBS blood drive last Wednesday.

SANBS enrolled nurse Colleen Myakayaka with donor Nare Mashilo and registered nurse Mokgoatji Machaka at the mobile clinic.

Easter blood reserves need community support

With the Easter holidays approaching, blood reserves in the province have to be augmented to meet the demand that is experienced on an annual basis.

“Every drop counts and if we can only save one life, we have already made a difference to someone in need,” SANBS clinic supervisor Shadrack Vukeya said.

Dr Gideon de Kock and his wife, Dr Maryke Wessels also took time off to donate blood.

“Saving lives is our mission and donating blood goes a long way to provide a service when it is most needed,” De Kock said.
