Dipetseng Catering serves up success in Ladanna
Rhulani Maphiri’s Dipetseng Catering in Ladanna serves traditional and fast food, turning her passion for cooking into a thriving family business.
POLOKWANE – In a small trailer in Ladanna, Rhulani Maphiri has built a loyal following through her delicious traditional and fast food offerings.
Working to support her family, she turned her passion for cooking into a business, Dipetseng Catering, which she started five years ago.
Turning passion into a family business
Outside her trailer, Maphiri sets up chairs and tables to create a welcoming space where customers can enjoy their meals.

Her menu includes a variety of favourites such as hardbody chicken, cow head, steak and bunny chows (kota).

“I started this business to sustain my family and share my love for cooking. It’s not always easy.
“Sometimes we cook food and it doesn’t sell, and dealing with difficult customers can be tough. But I always remember what’s at stake – providing for my children,” she said.
Despite the challenges, Maphiri remains committed to customer service and respect.
“I believe the customer is always right, so I make sure to approach everyone with a smile, regardless of age, gender or race,” she added.
Serving customers with care and inclusivity
She encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to prioritise inclusivity and good service.
“Make sure you accommodate everyone and treat them with kindness,” she said.
Looking ahead, Maphiri hopes to expand her business by adding more traditional dishes, including tripe, a variety of pork meals and more beef options.
