Noordskool’s water fun day makes a splash

Noordskool hosts a long-awaited water fun day with jumping castles, water slides, and ice-cream for learners after a postponement.

POLOKWANE – Laerskool Pietersburg-Noord (Noordskool) hosted its long-awaited water fun day on Friday and it was a resounding success.

The event was initially scheduled for September 2025 but had to be postponed due to inclement weather.

The delay proved worthwhile, as learners finally enjoyed a day of fun in the sun on various jumping castles and water slides.

Bokang Motshekga, Blessings Rasethe, Thuto Malesela and Tshegofatso Matlou enjoy their time on the field.

The school grounds were transformed into a vibrant water wonderland, featuring slides, pools and jumping castles of various sizes.

Learners filled the fields with laughter and excitement as they ran, splashed and played, making the most of the facilities.

To top it off, the school treated them to ice-cream as an ideal way to cool down on a hot day.

Teachers were on hand throughout to ensure everything ran smoothly and safely, while also joining in the festive spirit.

Learners were grouped according to their age on different fields, ensuring that everyone could enjoy the activities comfortably and fairly.

Best friends Mckayla Brits and Mayson Maritz enjoy Noordskool’s water fun day.

“It was amazing to see the kids laughing and having so much fun. The day was a great way to let loose and enjoy the sunshine, and we’re so glad we could make it happen for them.

Thank you to the parents for also playing their part in making sure the learners were all set for the day,” said teacher Magdel Lee.

My name is Anne Mametja. I am a mom of four and an identical twin. With a passion for media, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Media and Television Production in 2012 and due to my love for children, I also hold a certificate in Nursing Auxiliary. As media is my first love, I started working at the Polokwane Review as a journalist in 2017 and it has been amazing thus far. I love journalism because I can be a voice to the community through my work. Journalism allows me to meet different people at the events I attend. Although there are certain beats that journalists stick to, being an all-rounder means I write community, schools, sports, hard, lifestyle and entertainment news. It also allows me to be versatile in the newsroom and assist where I can. ‘Journalism can never be silent, that is its greatest virtue and its greatest fault.’
