Limpopo campaign gives school essentials to boost learner confidence
Limpopo Chaplaincy and Men's Forum host back-to-school campaign in Polokwane, providing haircuts, clothes and shoes to learners in need.
POLOKWANE – The Limpopo Chaplaincy Health and Community Care, in partnership with the Limpopo Men’s Forum, hosted a two-day back-to-school campaign as part of its Giveback to the Community Programme at the Game Shopping Complex in Polokwane from April 6-7.
Director Chaplain Albert Masingi said the campaign was aimed at helping children begin the school term with confidence and access to essential resources.
“It is important to host these campaigns at the beginning of every school term as many families face financial challenges and struggle to provide basic school necessities for their children,” he said.
“The main aim is to support learners with essential resources, promote education and give back to the community, ensuring that every child has a fair opportunity to succeed academically.”

Masingi said the initiative helps learners start the term prepared and motivated.
“When children receive a fresh haircut, clothes and even shoes, it boosts their confidence and readiness to focus on their education,” he said.
He added that the campaign is not a once-off effort but an ongoing initiative planned for every school term.
“We aim to continuously support our community by bringing together volunteers, donors, professionals and families, creating a sense of unity,” he said.
The programme also benefits the wider community, he said: “Learners receive free haircuts, clothing and shoes. It promotes unity and collaboration among stakeholders, encourages education and helps reduce school dropout rates,” he said.
