Antonio Pico Santana Martins has been re-elected as president of the Sapa Yopa Motorcycle Club during its annual general meeting in Polokwane.

POLOKWANE – Antonio Pico Santana Martins has been re-elected as president of the Sapa Yopa Motorcycle Club during the club’s annual general meeting, recently held at the Kings Palace Hotel and Conference Centre.

The meeting also saw the election of a new national executive committee.

The structure includes vice-president Peter Moloto, secretary Ray Ray, deputy secretary T-Gom, treasurer Pabi, national road captain Oom Prince, sergeant-at-arms Bra D, and public relations officer Wyzee.

Key issues discussed at the AGM included a progress report outlining the club’s achievements and current challenges, strategies to strengthen operations and a review of the constitution, with proposed amendments.

Martins said his uncontested re-election reflects the confidence members have in his leadership.

He acknowledged the responsibility of leading a large organisation and emphasised the importance of discipline and repositioning the club to better align with community expectations.

“We need to focus on discipline and rebranding the club in a way that resonates with the communities we serve,” he said.

Looking ahead, Martins said efforts are underway to strengthen community support and secure sponsorships, particularly in preparation for the upcoming 18th Sapa Yopa Rally.

He added that the club aims to collaborate with businesses across Limpopo to expand its reach and introduce new initiatives.

He reaffirmed the club’s commitment to charity work across South Africa, noting that community upliftment remains a core focus.

Martins also expressed appreciation to outgoing executive members for their contribution and leadership, saying their efforts have laid a strong foundation for the club’s future.
