Seshego water treatment plant offline after reservoir leak

A leak detected at the reservoir within the Seshego plant forced the facility offline, with municipal crews dispatched to site to prevent further water loss and get operations back on track.

POLOKWANE – The Seshego Water Treatment Plant is currently offline after a leak was detected at the reservoir within the plant, Polokwane Municipality said today (August 17).

Repair team dispatched

The municipality’s operations team was promptly dispatched to the site and is attending to the necessary repairs to prevent further water loss and restore normal plant operations as swiftly as possible.

Which areas are affected

The interruption is currently affecting water supply in the following areas:

  • Zone 2: Water supply interruption
  • Zone 3: Low water pressure
  • Zone 4: Low water pressure
  • Other surrounding areas: May experience low water pressure during the repair period

When supply should return

Repairs are estimated to be completed by 17:00, should everything proceed as planned. Water supply is expected to normalise thereafter, subject to the successful completion of repairs and the gradual recovery of the water distribution system.
