Seshego man dies weeks after alleged tavern assault in Juju Valley

A man vanished from Seshego in June, was found badly hurt in hospital days later, and has now died two months on. His attacker still at large.

POLOKWANE – Police in Seshego are searching for suspects after a 30-year-old man, who had previously been reported missing, died from injuries allegedly sustained during an assault at a tavern in Juju Valley.

Reported missing in June

The man was reported missing on June 13. He was later found at Polokwane Provincial Hospital on June 22, where he was receiving treatment for what police say were serious injuries sustained prior to his hospitalisation.

He remained in hospital until he died on Tuesday, August 18.

Investigation into alleged tavern assault

Police are investigating allegations that he was assaulted at a tavern in Juju Valley, though the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. The identity and whereabouts of the suspect or suspects are not yet known.

A murder case has been opened at Seshego Police Station.
