Polokwane warms up with sunshine after cloudy Monday start

Polokwane starts the week cloudy but sunshine and warmth return by Tuesday. A midweek shower is possible before a beautiful, sunny weekend settles in.

POLOKWANE – After a cloudy start to the week, we’re in for a beautiful stretch of late-summer weather. High pressure will build in, bringing plenty of sunshine and very warm temperatures.

However, a slight cool-down and a chance for showers are expected by midweek.

A sunny and warm start to the week

Monday will begin with a cloudy start, but the sun will break through by the afternoon. Highs are expected to reach 26°C, with winds out of the north at 9 km/h.

The warmest days of the week will be Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tuesday will be very warm with hazy sun and a high near 29°C, accompanied by a light southwest wind at 7 km/h. The hazy sunshine continues on Wednesday, with a high of 27°C and a northeast wind at 11 km/h.

A midweek cooldown with a chance of showers

Things will shift on Thursday as a system moves through the area.

The day will start breezy with a few showers possible. Clouds will break later in the day, but it won’t be as warm, with highs only reaching 21°C.

The wind will pick up from the east-northeast at 19 km/h. While some showers are possible, we’re only expecting about half an hour of rainfall.

Sunshine carries us into the weekend

The weather looks fantastic for the end of the week and the weekend. Friday will be mostly sunny and nice with a high of 23°C, and Saturday will feature hazy sunshine with a high of 22°C.

A notable cooldown is expected overnight into the morning hours, with lows dipping to 6°C on both Friday and Saturday – so you might want to grab a jacket for those early starts.

The warming trend returns on Sunday, which is looking mostly sunny and quite warm with a high of 27°C.

As we look ahead to next Monday, the weather will become more unsettled.

The forecast calls for partly sunny skies with a chance of a thunderstorm popping up in the afternoon.

Highs will be near 25°C with an east-northeast wind at 13 km/h.
