POLOKWANE – Former Noorderland High School learner Paballo Makokga continues to excel academically after being invited to the prestigious National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF) South32 Awards, held at Emperors Palace recently.

The NSTF Awards, in partnership with co-branding sponsor South32, recognise outstanding contributions to science, engineering, technology and innovation in South Africa by individuals, teams, partnerships and organisations.

Selected for London International Youth Science Forum

Makokga was recognised as one of the top-performing learners from the Class of 2025 and was selected to attend the London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF), where she will participate in a two-week international science programme in the UK.

The achievement reflects her outstanding performance in physical sciences and mathematics, as well as her commitment to academic excellence.

Noorderland principal Thabo Ratema was also invited to attend the awards ceremony as one of the distinguished school representatives whose learners achieved exceptional results in these subjects.

“Congratulations to Paballo. Her hard work, determination and excellence continue to inspire the entire Noorderland community. We wish her the best of luck as she prepares to represent South Africa on the international stage,” Ratema said.

Makokga said she was honoured by the recognition and looked forward to making the most of the opportunity.

“I am honoured and looking forward to learning as much as possible during the two-week international science programme,” she said.
