Club proud of medal reaping

Piet van Rensburg’s Pietersburg JKA Karate Club participated in the Limpopo Championships in the city last Staurday.
Members did the club proud by winning stacks of medals.
Around 110 club members from nine clubs across the province participated in the championships.
The participants took part in kata and freestyle fighting and, according to JKA club instructor Van Rensburg, the standard was exceptionally good.
“Nine out of the 10 members from my club managed to win medals in three different karate styles,” he said.
This was the second provincial all-styles championships held in Limpopo this year.
Results:
• Roelof Myburg – gold in fighting and silver in kata;
• William Malebana – gold in fighting;
• Yolandi Vorster – gold in kata and fighting;
• Eliphus Ntata – silver in kata;
• Anica Myburgh – gold in kata;
• Gadimo Seriti – silver in fighting and bronze in kata;
• Ludwick Kganyago – gold in kata and bronze in fighting;
• Jaco Conradie – silver in fighting;
• Anton Dreyer – gold in kata and fighting.
Van Rensburg said the club will grade their members for the black belt in the JKA style on November 11.
