Popular Night Race postponed
The popular Night Race was postponed to 2014 due to the withdrawal of the event's sponsor.
For 22 years, the popular Night Race had been hosted by the Polokwane Athletics Club.
This year, the race was postponed to 2014 due to the withdrawal of the event’s sponsor.
Johan van Vuuren, the treasurer of Polokwane Athletics Club and event coordinator said the Night Race, which was supposed to be run on October 18, will be held in the first half of 2014.
Van Vuuren added that PAC and Limpopo Athletics still had to decide on a date that would not clash with other races in Limpopo. He said PAC’s organisers were still in negotiations with potential new sponsors to host this race in the future.
“As soon as we have established a suitable date and secured new sponsorship to host the Night Race, we will have a huge launch to announce this event,” Van Vuuren said.
