POLOKWANE – The South African Police Service’s (SAPS) national golf tournament was held at the Polokwane Golf Club from September 30 to October 5.

Limpopo’s team improved on the overall results in the B-division with a fourth place; one place up from the previous year’s fifth spot in Nelspruit.

Tersius Lombard, team manager of the Limpopo team, said the teams in this year’s tournament played very competitive golf, which made it tough to win a top three placing, but the teams enjoyed every moment of the event.

Lombard thanked the sponsors that made this event a successful tournament. He also thanked each person who made a contribution to the SAPS Women’s and Child Fund.

The SAPS South African golf tournament’s A-division winners were:

1. Free State.

3. SAPS Head Office, Pretoria.

The B-division winners were:

1. KwaZulu-Natal.

2. Gauteng.

3. Northern Cape.

4. Limpopo.

The player who topped the sheets was Hugo Delport from the SAPS Head Office team. The best individual Limpopo player was Herman Els who was placed 23rd out of 94 players.
