Fencers fly Limpopo’s flag high at the South African championships; return with medals

POLOKWANE – Fencers from fencing clubs in Polokwane and Mokopane competed at the South African championship in Somerset West on September 28 and 29.
Jamie Norval from the Fire Bird Club in Polokwane competed in the u/13 foil category, where he won a gold medal.
Eben Wagner from the Ere Sable Club in Mokopane competed in the u/15 epee class and achieved a bronze medal for his efforts. Fellow club fencer, Andrew Howitt competed in the u/20 sable class and won a bronze medal.
The fencers will compete in the Gauteng Open in December, which is aimed at increasing fencers’ ranking points.
