Golfers set for national cup

Three golfers from Polokwane went through to the national round of the BMW Golf Cup

Three golfers from Polokwane went through to the national round of the BMW Golf Cup after winning their respective categories in the regional round, which was presented by BMW Modern Autohaus at the Polokwane Golf Club last Thursday.

Glen Wynne, the winner of the men’s A-division with 38 points, Piet du Toit, who won the men’s B-division with 39 points and Lynette Smith, the winner of the women’s division on 33 points will travel to Fan Court in George from November 5 to 8.

They will compete against the rest of South Africa’s regional winners.

The winners of each respective category in the national round will win a trip to the final round in Singapore.

The following golfers also won prizes in the regional final:

• Finny Mathebula for nearest to the pin for the fourth hole.

• Las du Plessis for nearest to the pin for the eighth hole.

• Baldwin Ramasobane for nearest to the pin for the 11th hole.

• René Rivero for nearest to the pin for the 16th hole.
