Blignaut and De Beer win Limpopo Toyota match
The eventful Limpopo Toyota golf match at the Polokwane Golf Club on Tuesday saw Riaan Blignaut and Jan de Beer triumph marginally ahead of Thomas Southon and Edwin Mackays.
POLOKWANE – The eventful Limpopo Toyota golf match at the Polokwane Golf Club on Tuesday saw Riaan Blignaut and Jan de Beer triumph marginally ahead of Thomas Southon and Edwin Mackays.
The winners had 50 points and runners-up ended on 50 points on a count-out.
A total of 84 players participated and the match was played in the format of a betterball scramble drive.
Third place on 49 points were Tien Blignaut and Ross Bennet with Joe Rikhotso and Malabani Pataki taking fourth place on 47 points.
Mackays also took the prizes for the golf player who played the longest drive on the second and 17th holes, and for the player nearest to the pin on the eighth hole. Nearest to the pin on the 11th hole was Brian O’Reilly.
An auction was also held during which money was raised to build a new toddler facility at the Pietersburg Club.
According to Eunice Meiring, sales executive at Lexus Polokwane, the amount raised was not yet known and would be made known at a later stage.
