POLOKWANE – While the final round of Polokwane Oval’s club championships took place at the city’s oval race track on Saturday, the winners will have to wait until Saturday, December 7 for the champions’ names to be officially announced during the club’s annual prize-giving. Saturday’s event ended with a race classified as the “butcher” class.

This race saw the participants in the different classes all racing against each other. The winner of this mixed-grill race was Frans Joubert, with Hennie Steenkamp in second place. Third over the line was Stephan Weideman.

Weideman is the winner of the hot rod’s class with André Pienaar taking second. In third place is Hennie Steenkamp.

Joubert was also the winner of the 2.0 modified class. Polokwane Oval’s promotor Roelof van Breda was second with Haccum Hough taking a respectable third place in this class.

In the 1660 modified class, Zelda Human had a sensational win ahead of Heath Bent, who finished in second place with Fred Cooper behind him.

Willie Blignaut reigned supreme in the stockrods class with Joseph Bothma and Attie van der Merwe in second and third places respectively.

Dylan Bosch won the rookie class followed by Elzani Raaths and Roean van Breda.
