Bulls training for Polokwane game

THE Vodacom Bulls announced their larger training squad ahead of the 2014 Vodacom Super Rugby season.

THE Vodacom Bulls announced their larger training squad ahead of the 2014 Vodacom Super Rugby season.

The squad was already busy with preparations at Loftus Versfeld end of last year before the start of the festive season.

With a number of players currently involved with Springbok training, Springbok sevens training and others busy with rehabilitation, the full squad only started training together in January.

Among the new faces in the Vodacom Bulls squad are Springbok scrumhalf, Piet van Zyl, who joined the Vodacom Bulls from the Toyota Free State Cheetahs.

Also joining the Vodacom Bulls are Springbok sevens player, Ryan Nell, who joined the squad from Maties and Western Province.

A number of players from the victorious Vodacom Blue Bulls u/19 squad have also been invited to train with the team, along with a dozen or so players who represented the Junior Springboks in the last two seasons.

The Voadacom Bulls squad are:

Backs: Jurgen Visser, Jesse Kriel, Akona Ndungane, Ryan Nell, William Small-Smith, Waylon Murray, Ulrich Beyers, Burger Odendaal, Bjorn Basson, Clayton Blommetjies, Handrè Pollard, Tony Jantjies, Tiaan Schoeman, Daniel Kriel, Dries Swanepoel, Lohan Jacobs, Rudi van Rooyen, Piet van Zyl and Rudy Paige.

Forwards: Jono Ross, Jacques Engelbrecht, Chris Massyn, Wiaan Liebenberg, Grant Hattingh, David Bulbring, Paul Willemse, Nicolaas Janse van Rensburg, Schalk van Heerden, Jacques du Plessis, Frik Kirsten,Werner Kruger, Dean Greyling, Marcell van der Merwe, Juan Schoeman, Hencus van Wyk, Basil Short, Bongi Mbonambi, Bandise Maku and Jaco Visagie.
