POLOKWANE – The KFC, PG Glass, Ticoma and Xerox sponsored golf match at the Polokwane Golf Club last week was a closely contested contest between the betterball stableford pairs of Len and Anthony Olley and Charlie Smith and Francois Goosen.

The Olleys won with 47 points on a count-out, while Smith and Goosen were in second place with 47 points.

Third place went to the pair of Dirk Visagie and Hein Warmehoven.

Golfers who received awards for landing nearest to the pin were Raymond Pratt (fourth hole), Steve Nthlane (eighth hole), Johan Liebenberg (11th hole) and Niko Koster (16th hole).

A number of golfers scored two-clubs in this match: Danie Bouwer (jnr), Hilton Hughes, Mpho Makhado, Len Olley, Johan Liebenberg, Tella Diemond, Charly Smith, Tim Bourdillon, Morné Myburgh, Raymond Pratt (x2), Riaan Piek, Ferdi Kirsten, Niko Koster (x2) and Arnold Venter.

Upcoming contests:

• The Baobab Classic takes place from March 6 to 8 and will see the BMW Modern Autohaus Captain’s Knockout match being incorporated in the tournament.

• The Polokwane Golf Club championship is set to take place on April 12 and 13.
