The Goose Academy golfer, Devaux van der Wath teamed up with Cleon Coetzee from the Benoni Country Club to win a Polokwane Golf Club match with a tally of 75 points last Saturday.

POLOKWANE – The Goose Academy golfer, Devaux van der Wath teamed up with Cleon Coetzee from the Benoni Country Club to win a Polokwane Golf Club match with a tally of 75 points last Saturday.

Second place in this betterball format match on 73 points went to Phala Mosomane and Phil Mashakane, while Ferdi Kirsten and Aart Juriaanse were in third place on 71 points.

Devaux also won the two-ball combined stableford competition on February 8, where he teamed up with fellow Polokwane Golf Club player, Fred Kloppers.

The 17-year-old Tom Naudé Technical High School learner has been honing his skills under the mentorship of Polokwane Golf Club member and The Goose Academy trainer and pro-golfer, Ray Earle.

Golfers who scored two-clubs in this match were Ferdi Kirsten, Gerhard Els, Tony Plaatjies, Aron Segwapa, Sam Kalla, Farouk Suliman and Charles Mdluli.
