Record breaking entries for 4-in-1

Organised by the Polokwane Athletic Club, the BMW Modern Autohaus 4-in-1 Road Race took place on Saturday.

POLOKWANE – Organised by the Polokwane Athletic Club, the BMW Modern Autohaus 4-in-1 Road Race took place on Saturday. According to Johan Janse van Vuuren, a committee member of the Polokwane Athletic Club, a record breaking 1 200 athletes competed in the race.

Rufus Photo from Pietersburg Road Runners crossed the finish line of the 42,2 km race in first place in the men’s open category. He finished the race in a time of 02:24:20. Collen Mailula from the Nedbank Club was second with in a time of 02:28:04, while Phuti Mohale also from Pietersburg Road Runners finished third in a time of 02:29:48.

Melanie Melville from the Polokwane Athletic Club finished first in the 42,2 km women’s open category in a time of 03:18:15.

Second was Joyce Netshifhefhe from the Toyota Club in a time of 03:21:57, while Mientjie Els from the Tzaneen Marathon Club completed the race in third place in a time of 03:49:55.

• 21 km men’s open category:

1. Tebogo Pilusa from Polokwane Athletics Club – 01:08:33.

2. Edwin Lesudi from Nedbank Club – 01:11:45.

3. Alfred Mathobo from Nedbank Club – 01:14:47.

• 21 km women’s open category:

1. Martinique Potgieter from Pietersburg Road Runners – 01:28:31.

2. Vimbainashe Mhleke from Toyota Club – 01:40:03.

3. Elsabé Cronjé from Polokwane Athletic Club – 01:40:58.

• 10 km men’s open category:

1. Happy Modila (private entry) – 00:34:18.

2. Andries Malete from Polokwane Athletic Club – 00:34:44.

3. Pelly Lamola from Polokwane Athletic Club – 00:36:03.

10 km women’s open category:

1. Enyane Vinolia from Dwars Rivier – 00:45:17.

2. Hilda Molokomme from Pietersburg Road Runners – 00:46:28.

3. Karabo Mohale from Pietersburg Road Runners – 00:46:28.
