Golfers meet on the green for the 7th Baobab Classic
March 6 marked the opening of the Baobab Classic golf tournament at the Polokwane Golf Club.

POLOKWANE – March 6 marked the opening of the Baobab Classic golf tournament at the Polokwane Golf Club.
The tournament ended on March 8.
The Baobab Classic is now in its seventh year. The Polokwane Golf Club has a history of hosting prestigious events over the years, including the Sunshine Tour in 2012.
On March 6, golfers competed in a fourball alliance format match and prizes were awarded to first, second and third placed teams.
Awards were also presented to golfers who played the longest drives and landed nearest to the pin.
Results:
The team of Bernardt Steyn, W Steyn, David van der Walt and C. Deport won on 75 points. Second was the team of Joas Legodi, Adam Milanzi, S.P. Maskanane and Pat Molepo on 75 points, while Dwayne Viljoen, Andrew Callaway, Hannes Willemse and Thys de Kock were also third on 75 points.
The team of Randle Jooste, Charles Mara, Joe Mackays and Thomas Southern were in fourth place on 72 points and Jan Nel, Louis le Roux, Andre van Dyk and Clinton Kinner were in fifth place on 72 points.
Prizes for the longest drive were awarded to Dwane Viljoen for the second hole and Johan Geldenhuys for the 18th hole.
Raymond Pratt was nearest to the pin at the fourth hole, Greg Nunes at the eighth hole, Freddy Greaver at the 11th hole, while Martin van Ghent landed nearest to the pin at the 16th hole.
