THE Limpopo Softball Association recently held a camp for the provincial male and female teams as part of the preparations for the National Provincial Championships, which will be played in Cape from March 18 to 23.
Provincial team member, Pontsho Masingi said the weekend camp would assist in instilling teamwork and confidence in the players.
Masingi, who is Seshego Raiders’ outfielder said he was able to learn a lot from the camp that was held in Polokwane.
“The fact that we were also guided by national coach, Tommy “TK” Kgomo rejuvenated our morale and confidence as we prepare for the tournament. I had the opportunity to mingle with my provincial teammates who I normally meet during the league matches. I am confident that after next weekend’s camp, we will be ready for the tournament. This time around we are gunning for silver,” said Masingi.
Masingi’s sentiments were also shared by the provincial head coach, Mamphiri Sethosa. “The boys were displaying a lot of commitment and eagerness as we took them through the paces. There is a lot of talent that needs direction and guidance to form a solid team. We will double our efforts to ensure we bring home the silver; we are aiming at the title after we finished fourth last year,” said Sethosa.
The final camp will be held this weekend in Polokwane before the team leaves for Cape Town on Monday.
