Eager’s swimmers make Lim proud
Eagar Aquatics Club took part in the National Level 3 Age Group Championships at the University of Western Cape from March 13 to 17.
POLOKWANE – Eagar Aquatics Club took part in the National Level 3 Age Group Championships at the University of Western Cape from March 13 to 17.
The championships is a club tournament and 12 swimmers from Eagar Aquatics Swimming Club competed in the tournament.
Eagar Aquatics head coach, Douggie Eagar said he was impressed with the swimmers’ performance. “We won numerous fourth places in various swimming categories, which with a bit of luck could have been medals. Eagar Aquatics was by far the strongest club from Limpopo, obtaining 174,5 points, while other Limpopo clubs such as Tuks Swimming and Shumu Swimming obtained six and one point respectively,” said Eagar.
Of 156 clubs, Eagar Aquatics obtained 15th place overall.
According to Eagar, swimmers from Eagar Aquatics continued to grow from strength to strength. In the boys u/16 category, Christoff Ras won a gold medal in the 200 m breaststroke in a time of 02:22, a silver medal in the 100 m breaststroke in a time of 01:07 and a silver medal in the 200 m individual medley in a time of 02:11.
Ude Fuchs won a silver medal for 50 m backstroke in a time of 28:81 and a silver medal in the 100 m butterfly for boys u/15 in a time of 57:81.
Laura Lennox received a silver medal in the 100 m breaststroke for girls u/14 in a time of 01:15, while Ivan Beukes won a silver medal in the 200 m backstroke for boys u/13 in a time of 02.24.
