The University of Limpopo hosted a 10-a-side rugby tournament on Saturday.

MANKWENG – The University of Limpopo hosted a 10-a-side rugby tournament on Saturday.

Teams that competed in the women’s category were the University of Limpopo, Nkowankowa, Moletjie, Bongeni, the University of Venda and the University of Johannesburg.

In the men’s category, two teams from the University of Limpopo competed against Phalaborwa and the University of Venda.

William Nkoana, the University of Limpopo rugby team’s chairperson and coach said the tournament was meant to be fun.

“There was nothing at stake for the winners. The teams competed to build companionship and team spirit. “We are preparing for the Boet Fick league which will commence in three weeks’ time.”

He said the Limpopo rugby women’s league fixtures and dates still needed to be confirmed.

By the time of going to print, the results of the men’s matches were not available yet.
