Eagar swimmers make Lim proud
Eight swimmers from Eagar Aquatics Club competed in the South Africa Level Two Championships, which were held at the Ellis Park swimming pool in Johannesburg from March 20 to 23.
POLOKWANE – Eight swimmers from Eagar Aquatics Club competed in the South Africa Level Two Championships, which were held at the Ellis Park swimming pool in Johannesburg from March 20 to 23.
All the swimmers made it to the finals in various events.
Results:
• Dylan Catto obtained first place in the 400 m freestyle in a time of four minutes and 52 seconds, he completed the 200 m freestyle in eighth place in a time of two minutes and 21 seconds and came in sixth place in the 200 m individual medley in a time of two minutes and 42 seconds.
• Hendri van Zyl-Smit came in 10th place in the 400 m freestyle in a time of five minutes and 28 seconds, fourth place in the 50 m backstroke in a time of 34,50 seconds, second place in the 100 m backstroke in a time of one minute and 14 seconds and was first in the 200 m backstroke in a time of two minutes and 35 seconds.
• Kamalan Naidoo obtained 10th place in the 50 m backstroke in a time of 32,21 seconds, fifth place in the 50 m breaststroke in a time of one minute and 17 seconds, and fifth place in the 100 m breaststroke in a time of one minute and 17 seconds.
He completed the 200 m breaststroke in sixth place in a time of two minutes and 58 seconds, was in eighth place in the 50 m butterfly in a time of 30,20 seconds, third place in the 100 m butterfly in a time of one minute and eight seconds and claimed fourth place in the 200 m individual medley in a time of two minutes and 38 seconds.
• Michaela Vermaak claimed fourth place in the 50 m breaststroke in a time of 38,78 seconds, fourth place in the 100 m breaststroke in a time of one minute and 25 seconds, fourth place in 200 m breaststroke in a time of three minutes and five seconds, fourth place in the 100 m butterfly in a time of one minute and 13 seconds and fifth place in the 50 m butterfly in a time of 32,91 seconds.
• Yvette Louw came in seventh place in the 200 m individual medley in a time of two minutes and 52 seconds.
• Bernard Mentz completed the 50 m breaststroke in eighth place in a time of 43,33 seconds.
• Annelize Mentz obtained eighth place in the 200 m breaststroke in a time of three minutes and three seconds and 10th place in the 200 m backstroke in a time of two minutes and 45 seconds.
• Johan Jannash competed in the multi-disabled category, where he won a gold medal for the 100 m breaststroke, which he finished in a time of one minute and 24 seconds.
