POLOKWANE – The Assupol Limpopo Blue Bulls lost 110-0 to the Golden Lions in their Vodacom Cup match at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex on Saturday.
The Lions dominated the match from the first whistle, ending the first half with a 68-0 lead. The Lions scored 16 tries in the first half of the game alone.
One spectator, who did not want to be named, claimed the Limpopo Blue Bulls were not represented by the best players and this contributed to their poor performance.
“Favouritism and nepotism under coaches and management is another reason the team will never do well. I think a new team should be selected.” He said there was a lack of rugby institutions in the province and players quit playing, because their chances of playing for professional teams were limited.
