3rd time lucky for this scorer

POLOKWANE – Itumeleng Rabothata has for the third consecutive year received the best cricket scorer of the year award for the 2013/14 season.

The award was presented to Rabothata during the Limpopo Impala Cricket awards ceremony, which was held at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex last Wednesday.

“The award did not come as a surprise as I knew that I had done a good job since the start of the season,” she said.

According to Rabothata, being a scorer is not an easy task and requires someone who is good with numbers and has a sharp mind. She said she was a soccer player until she was recruited by Limpopo Impala Cricket to join the team as a scorer.

“You need to know cricket well, be committed and be punctual to excel as a scorer. I have been appointed as head of scorers in the province.”

Rabothata is also one of the top students at Capricorn FET College and was presented with an award in 2012 for being one of the best student in Information Technology and Computer Science.

“People should learn to juggle sport and education to have options in the future.”
