Top players take trophies home

Limpopo Impala Cricket honoured their top cricketers in an awards ceremony at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex last Wednesday.

POLOKWANE – Limpopo Impala Cricket honoured their top cricketers in an awards ceremony at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex last Wednesday.

Cricketers from provincial primary and high schools as well as cricketers who represented Limpopo on national level received accolades for their performances during the 2013/14 cricket season. The award ceremony also marked the end of the cricket season.

Senior Impala player, Henk Holtzhausen, walked away with the top accolade as Limpopo Impala senior cricketer of the year, while Stefné Pistorius was named Limpopo woman player of the year.

A special award was presented to Isaac Senetla for his involvement with and stellar performances in the South African Colts cricket team.

Itumeleng Rabotha was named Limpopo scorekeeper of the year for the third consecutive year, while the umpire of the year award was presented to Tshepo Semenya.

Eagles Cricket Club walked away with the Premier League winners’ trophy.

The award for promotional league winners went to the Potties Old Boys Cricket Club.

The Old Boys also won the club compliance award.

Al-Fatah Cricket Club were the winners of the Pro20 winners’ award, while the accolade for club fair play went to Nkowa-nkowa Cricket Club.
