Menzies claims top spot in 4th round of NMG golf challenge

The fourth round of the Northern Media Group golf challenge saw 63 golfers in action at the Polokwane Golf Club on April 30.

POLOKWANE – The fourth round of the Northern Media Group golf challenge saw 63 golfers in action at the Polokwane Golf Club on April 30.

Duncan Menzies took the top spot with 37 points.

Second place went to Phill Masekane with 36 points on a count-out and third place was won by John Steynberg, who also scored 36 points.

Francois Goosen and Thomas Pretorius took fourth and fifth places respectively.

Leo Gama won the award for the golfer nearest to the pin on the ninth hole and Janneman Groenewald took the award for the longest drive on the 17th hole.

The jackpot for holes two, seven, 12 and 16 had to be carried forward to the next event with no winner staking a claim.

The club championships will take place this weekend, while the next round of the Northern Media Group golf challenge will take place on May 28.
