Bronkhorst wins club championships for a 3rd time

Jannie Bronkhorst won the Polokwane Golf Club Championships for the third consecutive season over the weekend.

POLOKWANE – Jannie Bronkhorst won the Polokwane Golf Club Championships for the third consecutive season over the weekend.

The two-day tournament kicked off on Saturday with close to 70 golfers competing for the trophies.

In the men’s A-division, Bronkhorst won the trophy after he completed the tournament with 141 gross points.

Corné Olivier took second place in the A-division with 145 points and Niel Rathman came third with 150 points in a count-in.

With 175 points gross, Desi Earle took the honours in the women’s A-division and was crowned as the new Ladies Champion.

Lynette Smith won the women’s B-division with 77 points.

Johan Steynberg won the men’s B-division with 166 points gross followed by José Afonso in second place with 168 points. Thys de Kok took third place with 171 points.

In the men’s C-division, Dawie van der Walt took first place with 71 points followed by Prof Zach Chuenyane, the defending C-Division champion on 67 points. Frans Weijters took third place on a count in with 66 points.

Morné Myburg won the trophy for the best overall nett total with 149 points.
