Eleven karatekas represented Limpopo during the annual National All Styles Karate Championships in Ermelo recently.
POLOKWANE – Eleven karatekas represented Limpopo during the annual National All Styles Karate Championships in Ermelo recently.
The karatekas bagged 20 medals in total and represented Limpopo under the banner of Eksteen’s Martial Arts Rainbow Nation.
The championships were sanctioned by Traditional Karate of South Africa (TKSA), the International Karate Union and the World United Karate Organisation.
“The karatekas’ excellent performance at the National All Styles Karate Championships made us proud,” said sensei Henri Eksteen, chief instructor and owner of Eksteen’s Martial Arts Rainbow Nation dojo.
“They all qualified to receive their TKSA Limpopo provincial colours,” added Eksteen.
Results:
• Yudansha Khensani Mashela – double gold for kata and kumite.
• Drikus Liebenberg – gold for kumite and bronze for kata.
• Wafiq Adams – gold for kata and bronze for kumite.
• Lebogang Mothapo – gold for kata and silver for kumite.
• Maphatso Kanjere- silver for kumite and bronze for kata.
• Seja Masola – double bronze for kata and kumite.
• Cade Brink – double bronze for kata and kumite.
• Nathan Weideman – double bronze for kata and kumite.
• Terrens van Wyk – double bronze for kata and kumite.
• Dian Brink – double bronze for kata and kumite
• Stephen Andrew – participated, but received no medal.
