34 young Gymstars earn Lim colours

The young gymnasts of Gymstars shone at the Limpopo Rhythmic Competition on May 23, with a phenomenal 34 out of the 35 gymnasts obtaining their Limpopo colours

POLOKWANE – The young gymnasts of Gymstars shone at the Limpopo Rhythmic Competition on May 23, with a phenomenal 34 out of the 35 gymnasts obtaining their Limpopo colours. The gymnasts walked away with five overall first places out of the 16 age categories and brought home 14 gold, 19 silver and 10 bronze medals.

According to coach and Gymstars owner, Lelanie Logtenberg, the high standard of gymnastics delivered boded well for the South African Championship, which will be held in Johannesburg at the end of June.

She said she was extremely proud of the high percentage of gymnasts who achieved medals and colours.

Individual winners (level 1)

• Mea Collen – u/9 overall and rope.

• Reneilwe Mohlala – u/9 rope.

• Kgansi Mohlala – u/8 free dance.

Individual winners (level 2)

• Elouise Venter – overall u/9 and hoop.

• Micaela Wood – overall u/10 and ball.

• Louise van Ryneveld – overall u/11 and ball.

• Cari Lombard – u/7 ball.

Individual winners (level 3)

• Winette Prinsloo – overall u/9 clubs and ribbon.
