u/25 action cricket team wins bronze
The Limpopo u/25 action cricket team competed in the national indoor u/25 tournament in Middelburg from July 2 to 5.
POLOKWANE – The Limpopo u/25 action cricket team competed in the national indoor u/25 tournament in Middelburg from July 2 to 5.
Limpopo competed against the Mpumalanga u/25 team, Mpumalanga invitational u/25 team, Mpumalanga u/21 team, Gauteng North u/25 team and the Western Gauteng u/25 team.
“After a couple of close games, the Limpopo side claimed third place.
“They had a chance to play for the title, but failed to win the semi-finals, losing the game on the last ball,” said Andy Muller, spokesperson of the Limpopo action cricket team.
The Limpopo team returned home with a bronze medal after the play-off for third and fourth place against Western Gauteng.
A national u/25 squad was selected during this tournament, and Gustaf de Beer, Eben Botha and Johnny Uys of the Limpopo action cricket team were chosen for the team.
They will tour with the national side later in the year.
