POLOKWANE – Molemole Sports Academy held football open trials at Noordelikes Rugby Club over the weekend.
The trials were attended by more that 100 soccer players, but only 36 were selected to join the academy.
The players will be provided with accommodation, meals, school programmes, football development and many more.
They will also be offered a chance to try out for big teams. According to Molemole head coach, Dominic Ramokgopa, the aim of the trials was to scout young talented soccer players.
“We will nurture their talents and build them to become professional soccer players, said Ramokgopa.
“The football academy is affiliated with the South African Football Association (Safa) and it aims to groom young players in the province.”
He said they would host trials in the future to attract players from areas such as Moletjie, Burgersfort and Thohoyandou.
Ramokgopa said he was impressed with the way young people played football and he looked forward to select other talented players in the future.
“The academy is all about building winning teams and promoting players to the next level such as the SAB League, Second Division League and the Premier Soccer League. The dates and venues for the next trials are still to be confirmed,” he said.
