Segolela to stay with the Bucs

Agent Tim Sukazi dismissed all speculations linking Tlou Segolela, Limpopo-born midfielder, with a move away from Orlando Pirates.

HIS soccer and netball tournament that took place in Moletjie over the festive season was a resounding success, but things looked less rosy for Tlou Segolela as far as his soccer career was concerned recently.

However, his agent Tim Sukazi dismissed all speculations linking the Limpopo-born midfielder with a move away from Orlando Pirates.

Segolela struggled to find game time at the Soweto giants last year and his exclusion from the Orlando Pirates’ continental CAF Confederations Cup squad fuelled rumours that the 26-year-old winger’s days at the club are numbered.

Sukazi insisted that his client’s future at Bucs was intact.

“Segolela’s contract expires next year and right now he is only focused on Orlando Pirates and nothing else. He is a Pirates player and we are not considering any other move. He is a fighter and will definitely bounce back and claim his position.

“People should also be mindful that we are in the midst of a transfer window and anything can happen, but for now Segogela’s focus is at Pirates,” Sukazi said.

The Moletjie-born midfielder would face stiff competition from the likes of Daine Klate, Sifiso Myeni, Thabo Qalinge, Khethokwakhe Masuku as well as Thabo Rakhale for the starting berth at Orlando Pirates this season.
