POLOKWANE – The 52 participants of the Sun Meropa betterball stableford match at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday were not put off their stroke due to fact that the greens have been treated recently.
Polokwane Golf Club manager, Charlie Smith, said the treated greens would be ready within the week.
“As we speak, today’s (Wednesday) match, the Pick n Pay Cycad betterball match, attracted over 100 players, so it does not really seem to bother the players much,” Smith said.
The winners of the Sun Meropa betterball stableford match on Saturday were Mohammed Essa and Ameer Bava with 47 points.
Luanie van Rooyen and Lynette Smith ended in second place with 41 points on a count in, and Malabani Pataki and Goitsemang Moseki took third place on a count out, also with 41 points.
The players who scored two clubs in this match were Mike Morkel, Malabani Pataki, Thabo Shingange, Leo Gama and Tristen Schwimm.
