Get ready for big local 4-in-1 road race now

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Athletic Club will present the annual BMW Modern Autohaus 4-in-1 Marathon on February 21.

The 42,2km race serves as a Comrades and Two Oceans qualifier. A 21,1km, 10km and 5km race will also take place during this popular local race, as well as a 60m toddler run, which makes this a fun day of running for the whole family.

The 42,2km race consists of a circular route that is fast with no major uphills.

This makes the BMW Modern Autohaus 4-in-1 an ideal race for runners to run their personal best times.

Walkers are welcome to compete in the 21,1km, 10km and 5km races.

There will be distance markers every kilometre and waterpoints every three kilometres.

The 42,2km and 21,1km races will start at 06:30 followed by the 5km and 10km race at 06:45 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

A total of R18 000 in prize money is up for grabs in various categories.

Meals will be available at the race venue at reasonable prices and a secured tog bag area and parking will be available at the venue.

Club tents are welcome at allocated areas and refreshments will be available at the venue on Friday and Saturday.

Entry fees are R10 for the toddler run, R20 for the 5km race, R40 for the 10km race, R60 for the 21,1km race and R80 for the 42,2km race.

A temporary licence for the 10 km, 21,1km and 42,2km race can be bought for R25 each.

Entries can be done on February 18 at the Polokwane Athletic Club clubhouse at the Peter Mokaba Stadium from 18:00 to 20:00 or on February 20 at the race venue from 17:00 to 20:00.

Runners can also enter on the day of the race from 04:30 until five minutes before the race.
