Limpopo Blue Bulls beat Noordelikes on own turf

BB Truck Noordelikes suffered a 71-3 loss against the Assupol Limpopo Blue Bulls on Saturday during a warm-up match.

POLOKWANE – BB Truck Noordelikes suffered a 71-3 loss against the Assupol Limpopo Blue Bulls on Saturday during a warm-up match played at Noordelikes’ rugby fields.

The match started at a high pace, but the Limpopo Blue Bulls soon dominated the game.

Charles van Wyk, Blue Bulls Rugby Union office manager, said the game was well played and he was happy with the team’s performance.

“It was a good match and all the players went all out and did their best.

“Warm-up matches are for players and coaches to prepare the team, hence people should not take them serious,” he said.

He advised coaches to try various combinations during friendly matches to see which combinations worked.

Van Wyk said the match served as a preparation game for the Limpopo Blue Bulls’ clash against the Leopards in Potchefstroom on March 7.

The Assupol Limpopo Blue Bulls will then face the Lions on March 13 at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex.

BB Truck Noordelikes also played against Seshego Rugby Club on Saturday, where they won 32-0.

Ignitious Semenya, Seshego head coach, said the team played well.

“This was our third game this year and the players did not get enough training that is why we did not perform so well. We will go back to the drawing board and rectify all the mistakes we made during the match,” said Semenya.
