A total of 78 players competed in this month's Review Golf Challenge at the Polokwane Golf Club

POLOKWANE – A total of 78 players competed in this month’s Review Golf Challenge at the Polokwane Golf Club last Wednesday.

This challenge takes place every month until November, with the best eight scores throughout the year counting towards the overall standings.

The players played a great game despite the extreme heat. Most agreed that it was an enjoyable day on the course.

Danie Bouwer Sr won the challenge with 41 points, despite a back injury. He also won the jackpot of R2 540, which was drawn by Aaron Segwapa, a member of the Polokwane Golf Club.

Willy Faver took second place with 40 points and Riaan Piek was third with 39 points.

Sous Greyvenstein and Willie Marx took fourth and fifth place respectively with 39 points each on a count-out.

The longest drive competition was won by Brian O’Reilly and nearest to the pin by Adam Milanzi.

Hannes Cilliers, Northern Media Group (NMG) general manager, handed over the prizes to the winners of the day.

This second competition in the Review Challenge proved to be a great day of socialising with friends and family, as well as a bit of friendly competition.
