Tough day for Lim bowlers
Limpopo's bowlers did not win any titles at the individual interdistrict bowls championships, which took place in various venues from March 9 to 13.
POLOKWANE – Limpopo’s bowlers did not win any titles at the individual interdistrict bowls championships, which took place in various venues from March 9 to 13.
The championships were played in three categories; A-side, B-side and the senior side.
The A-side played in Durban, the B-side in Pretoria, while the senior side played in George.
Christo van der Merwe, Polokwane Bowling Club president, said the championships were tough and they had many new players who competed in the championships for the first time.
“The championships were not easy at all, but we will go back to the drawing board to rectify our mistakes.
“The problem is that bowlers in the province are not exposed to competitive tournaments like other provinces so we plan to host many tournaments to enhance our skills,” said Van der Merwe.
“We will start preparing for the Polokwane mixed pairs finals, which will be hosted at the club on April 11. We also have players who will compete in the national bowls championships in Pretoria in May,” he said.
